My wife took her 2008 1.3 Copen in to Halfords for an air con check as there was no ice cool air coming out.
They re-gassed it and all was well for about a week, when we noticed the cold air was not ice cool again.
I suspected they just recharged the system without actually checking for leaks, so took the car back and explained. They apologised and did a free check and the diagnosis was....

"air conditioning compressor leaking, along with an "o-ring" seal on the bottom left hand...

Our 1.3 has had an advisory on the rear shocks as part of its MOT. This gives me some breathing space to sort out replacements.

However, most of the existing related threads are pre-COVID, pre-Brexit and pre-Ukraine and the sourcing of car spares has gone crazy since then. Even our local former-Daihatsu garage has gone out of business.

Can anyone recommend a source of new, replacement shocks. Doesn't have to be OEM but must be suitable for day-to-day road use, not rock...

Very easy to do. Remove radio, and reach behind the climate controls, you'll find two black sockets you can rotate and pull out.
The bulb is a TSD 74, a 286 is the same, you just need to transfer the orange sleeve onto the new bulb.

Hope this helps someone, I couldn't find what bulb I needed online until I checked myself, I also didn't know if the climate controls needed to be...

A couple on months ago the Copen (1.3) went in for its MOT knowing the right headlight bulb had failed and took the mechanics' offer to replace it whilst the car was in.

Both headlight bulbs (in fact all front bulbs) were replaced with Bosch units to save the hassle of changing them too soon again. The garage made a pig's ear of it and said he had to remove the front bumper, which ended up with broken clips, missing bolts and mis alignment of the refitted bumper!

Previous owner had “installed” a double din radio, sat in the dash loosely.

went to install a single din I purchased, removed the previous to find no radio brackets, just a hole. Strangely, the screws to the radio bracket are in the ashtray.

Does anyone know the correct part numbers for the left and right radio brackets? Scratching my head! I have obtained 3L of Castrol Syntrans 75W90 gearbox oil. I was hoping to find a guide for doing a gearbox oil change for the turbo version of the Copen, but all I can see are the instructions for the 1.3 version.

Have anyone done this as a DIY job? What issues did you find getting it done?
