Agreed but not so simple is it for example toyota dealer said they couldn't communicate with the cars computer, neither could another mechanic/w'shop for whom I have high regard
What is the exact issue you are experiencing that requires ecu interrogation? Does the car have an OBD port? If so any generic code reader should be able to help. However according to Wiki your car may be pre requirement to have a standardize port? On-board diagnostics - Wikipedia
