Hi all, Today we purchased a lovely second hand Copen 1.3 on a 57 plate, whilst out on the test drive I noticed a knocking/clunk sound coming from the roof on the passenger side (when driving on uneven roads). How would you guys go about tackling this? The car is being picked up next Sunday so no pics yet and my wife really loves the look of the car and can't wait to get it, hopefully we will to get to some get togethers as we do with my car club.
I'm sure my wife will do her own intro in the coming days.
    Thanks Mark

It sounds like the catches that hold the roof are loose and need tightening, a common problem.
Search the forum a few on here have had this problem and sorted it without difficulty.
BTW, if you bought it off a dealer get him to adjust the catches.

Ahh thanks, would this make the sound generate from behind the passengers head, at ear (approx) height?.
This looks like being my first job..

It might be the little parcel shelf that sits behind the seats they are also prone to rattling. The cure for that is to remove the shelf and apply a spongy sticky backed tape to the underside which acts as a sound deadener. @trustafox has done a video on how he cured his shelfs rattle. Look it up it's a masterpiece of cinematography.:D

I see you are only in the WMids James. I will be holding a Copen squeak removal workshop this September.
DaG has attended one in the past. And it works as he left tongue tied! Plus a wallet weighing £50 lighter :)
His rubber cheque helped cure another squeak But he's walking better these days.!

its not just great camera work, its a trilogy!

Hi, thanks for the links guys, btw trustafox, it's Janes not James, and seems like we might have to attend your "squeak removal workshop", this knock is probably the only thing that would annoy me with this car, it looks loads of fun.

    Cheers Mark

Err, it wasn't me who took the Mick out of his fuel cap sticker. I just explained it all to a new member and got the blame for your nastiness.
He disappeared I thought he might come back when you took your year long sabbatical but not a sign. I cant remember his name but he had a very nice looking Copen.
I wonder how many other posters you've scared away?

The phallic pictures were funny, I'd forgotten all about them. Obviously you hadn't.:D

He asked for opinions, all I said was it wasn't to my taste. It was you that said selling them won't get Greece out of its Sauerkraut debt! but obviously less diplomatically said :D

Yes, but it was worth adding in to modernize the debate! But the debt situ was still there just not in the news for our regular entertainment and fingerprinting at the EU.

Yes thats right DaG, I remember now how you pm'd me to do you a favour and post that message because your internet service was down and couldn't do it yourself! Still can't figure out how you messaged me! :wondering:
