Our 1.3 never came with the remote key fob as the previous owner had all the locks replaced when their keys were stolen. Can anyone tell me whether any Daihatsu key fob (say from a Sirion or Materia) can be coded up, does it need to 2 button or 3 button? I've spotted a few on eBay. Or is it a case of going to a Daihatsu dealer and buying a new one and getting it coded. TIA Paul.
Same situation happened with my Copen. Last time I enquired with Woodford Motor Company (Daihatsu Dealer) it worked around £120 + VAT.
...or if not in a great rush, it might be worth calling the next one listed on ebay as a Copen breaking for spares - I managed to get one incredibly cheap this way and there are postings in Copenworld on how to pair it up.
Does your Copen have the Cobra alarm? They have a different fob. This fob is for sale at the moment on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Daihatsu-...337f4dd&pid=100033&rk=1&rkt=4&sd=262068051337 I'm not sure if it would be the right one for your car though, someone who has reprogrammed one might know. My 1.3 had the alarm fitted when it was new and the fob is very different but has two buttons - probably not a lot of help!
It appears the Terios uses the same model of fob. FWIW, I was quoted 120EUR for a fob from Daihatsu via AutoKey.ie, so I'd say that equates to 90STG
This thread might help with reprogramming if you find a fob. https://www.copenworld.com/community/threads/key-fob.1119/
This will be invaluable as I've managed to snatch a Copen fob on eBay for £20. Fingers crossed I can pair them together. If that works... the next job are some non-retracting seat belts... I have 14mm socket, wet and dry, silicone spray at the ready thanks to the forum
