My Copen passed it's MOT. Phew. I was worried about the seat belts. I unhooked them from the guides just to be sure. I did need new discs & pads at the front though. My top mechanic gave the calipers a strip down & a good clean whilst he was at it. He also took a look at my Air Con. No leaks in the system. Apparantly the compressor is the main suspect. As the front bumper & air box needs to come out to get to it. We can't be 100% sure. So I've just bought a second hand compressor off eBay. She goes back in next Tuesday to hopefully sort it out. Fingers crossed. I want my air con back for the winter. It's great for demisting.
Woo-hoo! My air con is workng again. Turned out to be just a baddly corroded connection to the Compressor/Pump. I've now got a spare used compressor/pump, anyone need one?
Another year, another passed MOT. Passed first time with no adviseries. Exactly 5200 miles travelled.
The seat belts are dangerous they should have been a recall. More than once I've been driving and realised that my belt was loose across my body. I have the drivers side belt permanently out of the guide which helps but it is starting to put a wear mark on the leather seat.
Another stressful morning of waiting for the Pass or Fail call from the garage. Couldn't wait any longer & just phoned them. Another pass. Now I can relax. New oil & filter & a service of the rear drums (I had a squeak on release of the brake pedal). Another 3000 miles of happy motoring await.
Squeak was just from the brake dust build up in the drum. Mechanic just giving it a clean out for me. I do about 6000 miles a year. I'll check the MOT's when I get home to see how many I did last year. So it'll be late March when it's done again. The official service time is 3K or 6 months, which ever comes first. I also use the second trip counter to make sure I don't go over 3000 miles. So my mileage works out pretty well for two oil changes a year. Not too bad.
is that why its got 2 trip meters, one for the oil change? I've never had a car with 2 before. Maybe its common place now. A sort of his and her's trip.
Just picked her up. Total cost of £142.54! Bargin. Oil & filter change Rear brake service MOT The filter was £21.22!
supplied my own filter when I had it done. for me it was £120 for mot, oil and filter change. they supplied the oil
A few more miles than the year before, covered 5648 miles. Below my 6k estimate. Pretty similar costs then, when ignoring the filter cost.
