Hi guys I have been searching through the Japanese Yahoo Auctions and have seen so many parts that I would like for the copen (at rather good prices too), my question is; What is the best way about purchasing items through Japanese Yahoo Auctions? I am pretty sure it isn't asstraight forward as messaging the seller due to language barriers and can anyone outside of Japan even create an account on there? This may be a daft question and I must admit I havnt looked into it properly just yet (I will tonight) but thought you guys might be able to point me in the right direction! Thanks Scott
A lot of people, myself included, use Jesse Streeter as the middle man. jessestreeter.com is his website You send Jesse the YA links and your max bid or if the Buy It Now price is ok (Note, Chrome translates Buy It Now to Prompt Decision). He buys the items, arranges shipping to his warehouse, shipping to you, etc. His commission isn't bad, but try and group items in the same order from the same seller to save money as a few thousand Yen here and there adds up.
I've used Jesse on a few parts and to be honest you actually save a lot of money. He's a really good guy, knows his stuff and really easy to do business with. Send him the links you want and he'll keep you in the loop and provide the invoices. His commission is cheap in comparison to what you order. Ordering my Grill from Japan through Jesse saved me about £50.00 from ordering through the sellers on Ebay.
Nice one! Thank you both. Ill have a browse through a few items then abd contact Jesse when I have a few bits I want and see what he can do for me! I've noticed how cheap some things are on Yahoo Auctions and there is a massive variety of parts that just don't seem available in England. Thanks again!
Best way to buy things from Japan (besides Jesse Streeter) is to go to Buyee.jp and register. They are intermediaries not just for Yahoo Japan, but many other sites, as well. Makes it very easy. You can pay with PayPal, which makes it easier and safer than credit cards, etc. I got my new all-aluminium radiator through them, very nice, it will outlast the rest of the car for sure, and it was still cheaper than sourcing a stock one locally, that is if I could have found one.
