There's a lot of talk on the TV and articles in the news about getting your car ready for winter so I thought I'd compile a useful photo guide.... The End.
That's great, Your Majesty - thanks for that! Of course, it depends on what winter's like in your part of the world. I've never tried Neville in 'proper' snow as the 2013/14 winter (the first in which I owned him) was very mild, but posts from other Copenistas suggest that our little bundles of fun revel in the white stuff. Maybe I'll find out this year. Ice scraper - ready. De-icer and screen wash - ready. Service booked for 15/12. Decent tyres on him. 'bout as ready as I can be short of wellies and a spade in the boot!
We had a really bad winter with lots of snow - then I bought a spare set of wheels and winter tyres - haven't had any snow here in the two years since . It's all my fault!
Hi. My name is Des I live in North Wales. UK . I have just bought a 2003 silver daihatsu copen .I won't be using it over the winter. And going to Spain for 3 months. Jan-April. Is the engine ok sitting that long without being turned over. It will be in a brick garage over that time Any advice I will be more than happy. Thank for a great forum. Des.
You should be fine, lots of Copens are wrapped up for the winter. Their batteries are small so will only hold a charge for a couple of weeks and make sure it is clean so that no road salt is eating away at it but apart from that everything should be good. Enjoy Spain, I'm very jealous
Thank you for speedy reply. I was concerned that the turbo may suffer I don't know why. I've just read the turbos are very temperamental. On this little car. And very expensive. Des.
Road salt, mostly. Here in the Netherlands it hardly ever snows, we just cover the country in tons and tons of salt to annoy Copen owners.
I used to live in holland so I feel sorry for you Yes we can get you here , but you have to surrender your copen .........
Hi Skbilics, Short answer: Nothing you should worry about, since you're driving a 1.3, and only the 0.6's have a turbo. Cue people with dreams of swapping the YRV Turbo's 1.3 into their Copen... Longer answer: A turbocharger, or colloquially turbo, is a turbine-driven forced induction device that increases an internal combustion engine's efficiency and power output by forcing extra air into the combustion chamber. source: Turbocharger - Wikipedia
Hi All, I am after the daihatsu copen wheel centre hub caps. I cant seem to find them anywhere. Any takers?
