Hi all long time since I have been here This morning I put my passenger window down to clear the water off but it wouldnt go back up. Eventaully it did When I got to work I opened the drivers window and again it did the same. In stead I noticed the little window that usually only goes down when the roof is put down went down . I managed to do this a few times Eventaully the window went back up Any ideas why they are not closing straight away? Bit worrying
I would've said to just put some silicone lubricant on the window runners. This will help them slide up & down. Reducing the strain on the window motor. It's very strange though that the rear quarter window also went down. The ECU in the boot also controls the window operation. Have your checked inside your boot for water? Look under the jack. If there is water I would then check the ECU for water ingress. If it's all dry in the boot, maybe your battery is dying. Strange things seem to happen to the Copen when the battery is dying.
Have had a similar problem in the past. Resolved by dropping the lid down and then it all seemed to sync back to normal. Also agree that it is more than likely a battery issue, check the connections as mine has become loose recently Keep On Copen On
brilliant thnks all for this will do the hood thing first failing that a new battery it is - it all comes at once doesnt it dont dare put my wondows down!
From memory, I thought the window ECU is the one towards the front of the car, drivers side (still in the boot), not the one by the jack. I think it is located at about the same position as all the water runs into when you open the boot when wet!!! Worth checking for damp patches there. Rex.
what a nightmare thanks all for this will have a check when i get home and also try the roof trick first. Fialing that a new battery it is
brilliant thanks for this At least i know what to look for in there Im really hoping its nothing to do with that thing - if it is im guessing you have to dry it out?
oddly enough left work yesterday and the windows were fine also this morning too! Fingers crossed all is well
