I had my Copen fully serviced at a garage yesterday.

Whilst it drives great, since the service I have noticed a whooshing sound when lifting off the accelerator under any sort of reasonable acceleration. It sounds like a dump valve, and only seems to be when the revs are reasonably high, which adds to that theory I suppose. The sound wasn't there before the service though (not that I noticed anyway).

Any theories? Is it normal? Please say yes... :)

My 659cc Copen doesn't make any whooshing noise when lifting off the throttle. But I haven't really made much use of the Rev range yet so that could be why I haven't heard such noises.
Is there any aftermarket parts on your car?
When does the noise happen? Like does it do it more at higher Temps or or something?
Sorry if this wasn't much help. I will try reving my Copen and lifting of the throttle while driving to test for the noise in mine.

    Hi Laura

Is the sound quite noticeable??, they have put a new air filter back in the air box. (Black box far left and to the front in engine bay.) I would just check that they haven’t forgot to put one back in!!!:giggle:
Sometimes after a service you can pick up noises that you haven’t heard before.

    All the best

That is indeed your dump valve and you should be hearing it after you let off the throttle, probably need to go over 4-5k revs for it to be fairly audible. No problem there, the puzzling thing is why you weren't hearing it before the service...

Air filter might be it, if yours was really grotty, mine was absolutely filthy when I got the car but I still got my 'tish!' noise, it did get louder when I fitted an induction kit though.
