Hi all I was looking around tinternet the other day and found this http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/DAIHATSU/COPEN/700070573230131011001/index.html What do we think? Have sent an e-mail to find out how much it would cost to import. Might end up with TWO copens
You must have won the lottery! Or got loads of payout on PPI claims! There are some nice touches, but overall I'm not a fan. If you want to import something, why not get yourself an Autozam AZ-1.? http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/MAZDA/AUTOZAM_AZ-1/700070558020130820002/index.html
Sorry guys but I'm not keen on either of them, happy to stick with my fig and copen. Trying to get some photos posted!
Certain aspects are nice/good, like some big pots But overall its a bit bling for me. If the orange was different colour might give me a different feel. But with all that and under the bonnet looks standard Revlon. But its relaxable Also, are the speakers in the tonneau cover plugged in so you can unplug them to remove the cover? If you can't that car's meant for sunny climates not the UK!
I kind of like how over the top it is - it would be nice to have alongside my regular red one. what's in the boot though? - some kind of turbo boosting gas like in a fast and furious movie?
Wow! Awesome, £11828 approx. in £ Sterling! A lot of dough for a 2006 plate. Very nice touch to such a great car. Love the way the doors open.
I went from wow to ow I like it from the 1st photo front view but definitley a show car rather than a drivers car. I like the gloss bronzey finish on the arm rest and the seats are well done. The gubbins in the boot looks like compressor and cylinder for air ride suspension.
air ride suspension hmmm? sounds interesting - some people have mentioned that they think my suspension is 'a bit firm' - anyone ever experienced a copen with this?
no, but have seen it on other cars and think its great if done well (up for speed bumps, on the ground when parked) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6xNp3fDahs
Have had 2 replies about importing this car 1- From a uk company, they said it woul cost ------£15500--£16000 to import and register it-- GOOD GOD!!!!!!! 2- From japanese site it was shown on, they said around £11000 to buy and import , but i would have to sort out registering and duty!!!. checked the listing after i requested the info, it had changed to DOMESTIC ONLY!!! Which mean`s i couldn`t import it any way!!! Having thought about it -------------- I don`t think i`ll bother
I have brought my Civic from Japan from Tokyo in 2005. It cost me only 1000 pounds in Japan and about 700 extra in the UK. I think you need to go thru single vehicle inspection as the car is less than 10 year old. This will cost you another few hundred pounds I guess. But I am sure the condition of Japanese import is far better than the ones in the UK for that age.
Looking at the pctures I don't think it has a roof. There are no pictures with the roof up and the boot picture shows no roof inside it. That air cylinder would probably stop the roof from going into the boot anyway. Looks like the roofs been permanently removed so it's no more than a show car really. Or for a country with guaranteed very little rain rain. I like the exterior of the car, the wheel and the colour scheme. Hate the interior though.
The glitzy cylinder does appear to be all behind (infront from photo aspect) the 2 slots for the blind. Also the roof button appears to still be there and the slots for the roof hooks. If they did this much work and removed the roof would they not have filled the roof hook slots in or painted to hide as these would always be on show with no roof. I kind of like the glitzy orange but not saying I'd want it in a car for everyday use. Or even occasional. A nice matt 'got to work' grey will do
You could be right that cylinder looks smaller than a bag of sand. You'd have thought that while they had the roof up to take the boot picture, as the roof must be up in that pic, they would have taken at least one roof up picture. I'm wondering if they have removed the roof but kept the switch, etc so that the roof could be put back if they decided to sell it. The roof has been removed but no problem to put it back. It would explain the tonneau speakers as well.
I know it's for sale. When I said if they decided to sell it I was talking about their possible thoughts on a future sale when they did the conversion. It's irrelevant anyway because it has got a roof as Princess has pointed out. Can't believe I missed that picture. All the bling on the inside and outside of the car it's quite disappointing when you look under the bonnet. Very bog standard, almost tatty.
In relation to the rest, the engine compartment looks very ordinary ... Maybe the owner hasn´t finished?!
