Recently my Copen started buzzing when I opened the door. Headlights were off and the key wasn't left in so why did it keep buzzing? it turned out to be the foglight switch was on and even though the headlight switch was off it still buzzed. And never knew I could open the boot by holding the zapper down for 3 secs until I read it on here. Anyone else have any 'well, I never knew that' info?
dwayner i didnt know there was a remote for the factory fitted CD player, until i found it jammed behind the back of the glove box - your so close to the sterio, i cant see why you would even need a remote!
It's so rear seat passengers can operate the player. Did the UK versions have a radio remote control?
- The steering wheel can not only be adjusted up and down but also back and forth - at the back of the pasenger seat there is a little pocket to store things Andreas
Well, it's happened two or three times to me already; NEVER leave the head lamps on when the engine is not running; always pull the key away even if you're sitting in the car or just stepping out to fuel the car. The battery is abysmally small a slightly old battery can quickly run out of juice if you keep the lamps on for like 5 minutes. You'll need to jump start the car with another battery or car. It was also a big surprise when I first found out that there is no low-fuel warning light and got stranded in heavy traffic with the roof down and angry wife in the car.
I was surprised how small the battery is considering the electric roof, heated seats, etc. Maybe there is an uprated battery available that will fit in the space?
dwayne wow, i didnt know the steering could be adjusted forward and back - i thought it was just up and down - as soon as i read that, i went to test it, and it worked!! so thats a first for me!
Okay, if you want to raise the rear windows when the roof is down this is what you need to do. Right above your head on the window frame is the hook bit that the roof latch clips too. If you feel with your finger in that grove you'll feel a little micro-switch. Press down on it replicating what would happen if the roof latch was closed. Now press & hold up on the window buttons. The little rear quarter windows will now go up. Helping with drafts when the roof is down. Especially helpful in the colder months. There is a photo somewhere but I can't find it.
Adam you are a genius! For 10years I have regretted that the quarter lights can't be closed with the roof down and......I just did it by following your instructions!! Thank you so much Old Badger
*bump* thought I'd bump this thread as some newer members may not have seen it. Also, anyone got any more top tips? I'll add another, if you want nice chrome wheel nuts get some (from ebay etc) listed for an MX5, they are the same size and look better than the matt black standard ones.
Just wanted to say thanks for the tips--especially holding the keyless button down for three seconds to open the trunk. I had no idea and spent a good chunk of time trying to figure it out on Google! Does anyone have any tips for keeping the inside of the car a little quieter? I love my Copen but it's so noisy, especially on a bumpy road.
Hi Osiyo, check out this thread for roof noise fix https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=875&highlight=roof+noise another approach is to turn the music up
I definitely turn the music up when I'm driving alone...unfortunately I can't do that when my girlfriend's with me though... I've had some luck lubricating the joints in the past but judging from all the posts, I guess it's gonna be a recurring problem no matter what.
I used the boot open with keyfob as soon as i saw it on here. Didn't want to wear a wet coat in the car so straight in the boot it went.
