Under sealing and rust protection

    I'd meant to do this at some point this 'Summer' but was rapidly running out of weekends where I was free and the weather wasn't too bad. Rare things indeed.

    Finally got around to it last Saturday. I know others have done similar and there's loads of good threads on 'how to' etc so I won't bother with that.

    I used smoothcoat hammerite for behind the bumpers and a combination of brush on and spray on under seal for the underside and arches. Paper overalls are a must! Messy stuff.

    The car is a 2008 1.3 model with 50k miles on it. Think I've caught the rot in time. There was only a light rust rash behind the bumpers on this car so hopefully with this work I'll have many rust free years ahead.

    mine had those rust speckles too but not as many. I tried to clean them up before doing the wax. it might have taken you along time though. I think I had a bigger patch of rust on the bottom edge though.
    You did well not to get it on the wiring though.
