The Guardian reports today that new car sales increased by 57% in November compared to a year ago.

This is attributed to a combination of the scrappage scheme and the upcoming rise in VAT, plus the fact that the economy was still heading in a downwards direction a year ago.

It's just a shame that Daihatsu isn't currently capitalising on this situation by importing new cars into the UK.
