Looks like the cover only without the back panel & yellow boot hooks http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Daihatsu-Copen-Tonneau-Cover-/271790399526?ssPageName=ADME:SS:SS:GB:1120
I have bid on this and hoping my husband can make the missing parts. There was a lovely complete one which sold on there on Friday, but unfortunately I missed it.
You don't need the back panel cabin side... You can get away with some form of butterfly clips to hold it down. The back panel has holes in the fabric that you can use for the clips. The hooks in the boot are a right bastard to fit, mind you. I think I have the Daihatsu part numbers for them in another thread. Looking back on the time and money I spent on installing mine (with back panel and hooks), I could have done something else that was actually useful. Still, it was a learning experience and I got to make a video out of it.
copen tonneau cover You can use stainless steel turn buttons from any boat chandler to fit the cover to the back panel, buy them with two holes in and just drill and fit using stainless steel self tapping screws. Regarding the hooks to keep it stored in the boot, why bother just store it behind the seats inside the car. I managed to obtain one late last year from a breakers, it came with the turn buttons and hooks but having seen the video posted by numbers6 I decided on an easier way to fit,(Just need to remember to remove it prior to moving the roof as you will not have the micro switch fitted) Good luck hope you win it
Hello there Gwyn and all other Copen fans on this fine sunny and snowy morning in Bingley. Sorry Gwyn, I must have outbid you for the 'complete' tonneau sold on Ebay on Friday night. However, I must admit to being a bit scepticle about the item, as the seller was not very specific in his description. Even when I questioned him twice about all the correct fixtures and fittings, I still didn't receive what I thought would be a comprehensive answer. Anyway, it should arrive in the post today, so I'll know for sure then. Phill and Buzz are going to be very disappointed if it isn't 'complete'
Hi - no worries. I didn't bid on it as was late home. Hope you are happy with your purchase. Seems that every time I contact a breaker to ask if the tonneau is available, someone has got there before me. Look forward to hearing if your purchase is a good as you hoped.
Oooops it was us that bid against ya, set our limit and that was it coz everything has a price to someone and that was our price, Gwyn we're watching that one also but if you want it we'll back off it's not summat we desperately want so go for it
Yes am bidding on the one currently on ebay - have been outbid, but I am not paying silly money as it isn't complete. Will wait a little closer to the end before bidding again. At least ebay is fair and it is good to know that true Copen lovers are getting their hands on these hard to find objects so that means they will be looked after. Good luck to us all. If you get it at least you won't be bidding on the next one
