Picked up my Copen yesterday, I've been losing sleep with the excitement and anticipation of actually owning one and now I have one! Hurrah!! What a fantastic car! It really is the best looking thing on four wheels, it's (- and no, I'm not giving it a name or gender) a 2009 with very few miles on the clock so should hopefully be good for long time. My only car now, I got rid of the Mondeo for this. I think the seller was somewhat bemused with my change to something half the size, but if you don't need back seats why on earth would you not have one? - it's time I got back to some proper driving, none of this set-the-cruise-control nonsense anymore and time to start concentrating out there again and looking out for those pot holes and bumps. It was about 180 miles drive back home in horrific rush hour traffic with added rain, spray and bad light, so I've nearly got the feel for how it drives - just can't wait for a bit of sunshine to get the top down
enjoy it - drove mine with the top down today - it was lovely. then I stopped at traffic lights just as the iphone shuffled onto 'touch me ' by Samantha fox! - all the pedestrians turned to look at me - ha!
If my iPhone had shuffled onto a Samantha fox track I'd have quickly flicked it onto another less embarrassing tune - The Birdy Song.
I tried to pretend I was in a real life version of grand theft auto vice city - it would have fitted the soundtrack perfectly.
Is this normal? Yes,I'm enjoying it lots and everything about it is really fine and dandy But... it came with two keys to open the doors manually rather than a remote blipper. I asked if there was a remote to open it and the chap said something about lots of variations with the ones that had come over to the uk blah blah but meant "no". Is this normal? the other Copens that I looked at before deciding on this one had remote entry blippers although I don't know if they were optional extras or something?
You should've had two remote fobs. See this thread about getting one & linking it to your car. https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=1919
Hello Quibbles, I'm in Rowley Regis and will be driving daily to work on M5 & M6 - wave if you spot a silver one
Fobbed Up Having scoured ebay daily for about 3 weeks and contacted various breakers with no success, I thought I'd give the nearest "dealer" (Browns Lane Garage Coventry) according to the daihatsu.co.uk website a call to see if they could still get a hold of a remote fob for me. To my surprise they said they'd got a brand new one if I wanted to pop in for it. Went in this morning, I now have a new fob with new battery programmed up to my car - even the holding down the unlock button trick to release the boot works. Reasonable price too, I'm happy
