hello just a question about the turbo... i noticed the turbo makes a whine noise when it hits 3000rpm's onwards and was curious if this is normal and if others have the same thing and why the noise is there for ? just got me thinking coz my brothers seat leon diesel has a turbo and he thinks its going coz of a turbo whine but im sure the copens turbo whine is just normal ? isnt it ?

My turbo has always made a whistling noise. Someone put a sound clip on here concerned about their bov making an odd noise & their engine made the same noises as mine so assume it's normal sounding

When I bought my Copen last year it made an excessive whistling/sucking noise when the turbo came in. I found the problem to be that one of the latches on the air filter box had broken allowing the lid to stay open just a tiny fraction on one side. It needed close examination to see that there was a fault. This was enough, at higher revs, to allow air to enter the system without going through the filter element and this created the excessive sound. With the box fixed, what I think is a normal, subdued, pleasant turbo sound has been restored.

interesting. certainly worth a check. I'd like to be able to hear another Copen engine just for comparison & maybe a bit of piece of mind.

Just after i bought mine, after a good drive it started sounding funny and at about 2.5-3k is started making that noise and felt a little sluggish than normal, turned out a vacuum hose had popped off the turbo. Worth checking
