today I had to be rescued by the AA.
reason being my copen was trapped in an exotic location known as... a friends front garden!
I really hate this recent rain - I parked there Friday afternoon, went to drive off today and it was wheelspin time! - it had actually sunk into the lawn.

Just a quick tip on getting the copen going on slippery surfaces.
Both on snow and mud there isn't a lot of grip so it can actually work best to use 3rd gear in a 1.3 litre and use the engine at really low revs. This isn't ideal but it actually works.

Also try the old "reverse" trick. This is very usefull if you have to get up a steep hill etc. If you can't get it up in 2nd or 3rd. Simply using reverse and backing up may well do the trick.

If you get stuck on a flat surface try the "rocking trick", put the car in reverse, then help it along yourself. Slight rocking back and forth rocking will get the wheels rolling slightly and can help you on your way. The key is to build up some momentum.
