Hi, It appears that my 2002 Copen has an intermittent speedometer fault. It works and then, very very occasionally, it doesn't. Then it works again :)
Does the speedometer get its input from an electrical or mechanical source? I have looked through the service manual but I can't spot it anywhere.

The speedo uses electrical pulses. I remember some years ago finding the cable using the circuit diagram, so I could connect it to a pioneer stereo (to give automatic volume adjustment).

    Hi Rex,

Thanks! That narrows it down a lot. I can ask the garage to now check the electricals as it seems to be so very intermittent. I go back to the 1970s when the speedo used a real cable going into the front wheels and then, later, into the gearbox :)
