As we all know, the Copen does not come with a spare wheel. What about a space saver from another car? Thoughts and ideas are welcome, as I have never bought an aftermarket wheel (space saver or otherwise) before. 6
It wasn't exactly a discussion about space saver wheels, infact it was a one way discussion. I asked on a thread if anybody knew of a space saver that would fit the Copen. Nobody replied to the question.
the Mazda 3 looked a good option but I think the PCD is 108 not 100 then MX5 only had 14 inch that I saw.
I think a Toyota Yaris spacer saver might fit. It has the same stud pattern. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-YA...005&prg=9625&rk=2&rkt=6&sd=370521025761&rt=nc The only place to store it would be behind the passenger seat. Better off with a can of tyre weld.
But like the MX5's its only a 14 inch with not more profile, so the corner would drop by half an inch. Probably ok for slow speed and better than covering your alloy in gunk which a garage said to me is a pain cleaning up. Never seen the after effects myself.
Space saver wheels from other Daihatsu cars (Cuore, Sirion, ...) fit as well. Not sure about the tyre dimensions, but all have the same 4x100 stud pattern. Andreas
its a wheel/tyre thats a lot narrower than the ones the car runs on so it takes up less space in the boot.
Hi guys, As far as I know, there is a genuine Copen spare tyre as a dealer option in Japan. I don't think it was popular as it was designed to sit at the back of passenger seat.
Well it is a spare, but of modern days they are saving weight and space. Of latter days they stuck in a spare that was the same dimensions as wheels you ran on.
