Well, it's nearly time for my 2 year service.
    How much did you pay?
    Dealer or non-dealer?

    Any advice welcome!

    Rex.

I'm off for my first service tomorrow, and it's costing about £140 at a Daihatsu dealer. It didn't sound too bad to me, but I've no idea how it compares because I simply didn't have time to shop around!

It depends, really. If that's for a full service then I would say that's not bad, but if you drive a 659 turbo and that's the cost for one of the intermediate services (oil and oil filter), I'd say it was rip-off city. It's about what my dealer charged me for the Yellow Peril's first intermediate service; since then I've been going to my local garage in the village, and after a few hiccups while he was working out a way to get around the fact that the oil filter is behind - well - most of the car, really, he's been brilliant. He also charges me about £90.

Both from Daihatsu dealership. Although I suspect I was ripped off for the second service as the dealership shortly went bust.

Just had my first service on 1.3 Copen and paid £125 at CJ Hardie in Lancashire. Very friendly and 4 new wheels with no hassle on the warranty.:)

Well, I got 2 quotes today for the second service....

    • C V C Cardiff - Dealer - £286.35 -
    • Ponthir Road Service Station - Newport - Ex dealer - £225.00
    Both include vat.
    Looks like there's no contest!

    An update....

I had the second year service today at Ponthir Road Service Station and I'm happy.

For the £225, as well as the normal oil / filter service bits they changed the antifreeze and brake fluid.

Also it was washed before I had back (pity I'd washed it the day before!)

    Would recommend.

    3 Year service & MOT

    Hi everyone,

Just had my 36 months service & 1st MOT carried out this morning, the total cost was £202.75. :D

Which I thought was very reasonable, as the MOT alone was £54.95.
