Hi Guys, Looking at servicing the Copen for the first time and mechanic said it's looking expensive. Roughly £190 including £60 for labour? That's for spark plugs, oil change and filters etc. Anyway we can get the price down? Do we have to get the official parts? That'd be a great help! Thank you.
look on this forum. there are shops just opened up who do all the servicing parts for your copen http://www.viamoto.co.uk/categories.php?cat=Daihatsu+Copen+Parts
I just serviced mine last weekend. 1.3 version. oil and oil filter, sump plug and washer, air filter, spark plugs, thermostat and coolant. Cost about £65 for parts. Took me less than an hour to do the lot.
I'll be honest, I don't think I would know my way round an engine ha. I also have the 0.6 vivid model. Apparently it's £130 for the parts from Daihatsu?
Ah, I see...... You bought the older, slower, high maintenance, expensive to service, turbo blowing 660cc version....... Sorry to hear that. Joking aside, the 660 parts do seem to be hideously more expensive. The plugs are iridium though. just had mine serviced in preston at main dealer for £129, only problem was they aslo informed the turbo is on its way out.
Had my 1.3 serviced for £75, I provided the oils (engine and gear box) and the filter - garage provided the coolant, brake fluid and the labour. Local garage not a main dealer. As the 1.3 is basically a Yaris engine, parts and labour should be quite cheap. Kind regards..
