    Hi all,
Just bought a scangauge 2 recently and was easy to connect the ODBII at the left of the steering wheel (I have a RHD).

The problems starts when the status is forever showing "Connecting" but does not seem to connect or be able to read the data from the ECU. The troubleshooting page tells me that I have to choose one of the following "modes" (Protocols I think); so am wondering if any of you know what mode (protocol) the copen ECU is attuned to?

The modes are ISO, KWPS, KWPF, CANSF, CANLF, CANSS, CANLS, VPW or PWM.

Hope someone out there can help me! Thanks in advance!

    Is your ignition on?

I bought an ELM327 and downloaded free software (Torque Lite by Ian Hawkins, which seems very popular) for my android and it seems to work ok. I didn't select any modes/protocols so I assume its using the standard, what ever the standard is. I could look if I knew where to look.

How much did you pay for it? Looks about £100 on Ebay.

I do now have the paid version of Torque which works but thats not applicable to your problem.

Yup ignition up and running. But it seems to be forever connecting... can't seem to detect the mode or read the ECU.

Thanks for your help, but I think the mode portion is unique to scangauge in the sense that it needs to know which protocol to use (as much as I can gather :(

ANyone out there able to use Scangauge with a copen?

have you tried it on another car to see if you can at least get the unit working and possibly understand more about it?

Yup done that as well. Was the first thing I did. I have a Civic and it worked on the civic. I even tried it on a 2007 Toyota, just to see if it's a JOBD issue and it worked!

The email back from Scangauge was a non-starter... so the next thing I am gonna do is to see if the previous owner changed the ECU.

I understand that the stock boost for the Copen is 0.5, but my defi is reading a boost of 0.8-1. So the ECU in the car might not be stock.
