Greetings, I'm looking for a grey bonnet in good condition...ideally from a 2007 or there abouts car. The one I have has a bubbled surface, which I am led to believe was due to a poor spray job. I'm thinking it would be easier to just swap it over rather than try a respray and run the risk of not getting the shade quite right. I'm in the UK. If you happen to have one available just let me know. Regards
There are usually a few kicking around on eBay but it’ll likely cost a fair bit in shipping and even if you get one in the right colour it’ll be hit and miss that’s it’s the exact same shade or without the dings and chips that probably necessitated yours being resprayed. I’d find a good paint shop that knows how to properly prime and paint aluminium. I’ve had mine resprayed and it looks ok.
Its aluminium corrosion. I also had it and got my bonnet resprayed from the dealer I bought it from as it was a bad paintjob. No problems since
Thanks for the replies. Will have a look though unfortunately I have a feeling that a good respray, or otherwise, can only be deterimined sometime after the work's done.
@Tieak You’re spot on with that. Mine was done in May and I’ve noticed a slight bloom around the raised centre portion of the bonnet. As it was done by the same guys that did the sinistral, I’ll raise it with them at the annual check up next year.
Just for general interest, I’ve finally managed to get a matching bonnet for the Copen. It’s been a long time coming but as it’s from a car of the same age and colour (and without any blemishes etc), it’s ideal.
