Hey, there - can`t find any service manual for newly imported 2018 Copen - there is an app on the official Daihatsu website, but it`s restricted only for Japanese users.
I am looking for basic information about service intervals for engine and CVT, oil changing, filters. Does anybody have tips or a link to a direct source?

    Hi Theo,

unfortunately us Europeans and Australians didn't get the new Copen, therefore there probably is no service manual.
Maybe you can try accessing the app via a japanese VPN?

I found the owners manual in pdf.
On page 257 it says to use 5w-30 and change it every 6 months or 5,000 km which is 3,100 miles, whichever comes first (Basically the same as the 1st gen Copen)
It should take 2.7L without filter and 2.9L with filter. Change the filter every 10,000km.

There only exists a Japanese version because the LA400 isn't sold anywhere else

    2004 Copen is a L880K (or first generation) not LA400K (2nd generation)

First gen Copen (L880K / L881K) was sold outside of Japan so there are English owners manuals. You can download it from the Resources section on this forum.

It's the 2nd gen that is Japan only (LA400) and therefore only has a Japanese manual.

Also the engine size is 659cc or 1.3L for the first gen and 658cc for the 2nd gen ;)

There are pdf translators on the net. Sorry I don't have a link at the moment, but they exist....
