    Hello everyone

I'm looking to buy this copen :
    Daihatsu de € 7 500,-

    It's a 2007 with 120.000km
I can get it for 7000 euros but something catch my attention
The trunk have a huge cap between it and the rear bumper, and the exhaust have a gap too

Is it the trunk that needs adjustment, or the bumper?

    Thanks !

There is also this gap near the door

Should I adjust it? How? Thanks !!

That’s a lot of money for a fairly high mileage car. Have a look at Autotrader in the UK and consider driving it over to Belgium instead. Either PM me for a UK postcode or just Google any UK town and pick an address - the website doesn’t care because you just pick nationwide for the search area.
The car will be RHD but it’s only small so makes no odds.

I prefer not... This car have Carpass so mileage is certified, and UK cars are out of the question
I had one, and I had to change fog light on the rear, and both headlights, that costed me 500 euros ! 122000km isn't very high for that engine, it can go over 400k km
I prefer to get a "Belgian" car (this one is Italian but free of rust)

Sounds like you have it under control. Good luck.

Yes honestly it's a really good exemple that's why I'm a bit worried for the trunk thing, but I won't touch it myself, will let my mechanic's try to adjust it himself
Saw that there was 3 screws on the left and 3 screws on the right hinges to adjust.

    Hi sheppardpat47

Looking at your photograph, the shut line on the boot looks correct. I’ve seen this on other Copens. It should be even all round and as long as the electric lock pulls the boot down firmly all is OK. Our car looks exactly like yours and works fine.

As you are now looking at your third Copen you should have some idea as to the overall look. These cars are not for the faint hearted they are a bit of a technical challenge.

This site has been set up to help people keep these cars on the road in order to understand the full complexity of this particular vehicle I do suggest that you print off the whole manual as we have done. It makes good bedtime reading.

No it's not correct, it should not be that high, there is a huge gap...
It doesn't pull the boot down firmly and doesn't grab it unless you slam it or push on it

Do you have the owner’s manual? If you do and read page 2-9 it says under the instruction to close the boot lid it states clearly lightly push the trunk lid from about 20-30 cm away. The trunk lid will be closed and locked. On the same side of the page it reads.

    WARNING

When you close the trunk lid, close it slowly, by pushing the centre of the trunk lid’s rear edge. Never put your hand near the hinge on the trunk lid at both sides. There is a Possibility that your hand or finger is pinched.

When closing the trunk lid, never apply a force excessively to the trunk lid. Failure to observe this caution may damage the hydraulic damper, resulting in difficult opening/closing of the trunk lid

Your photo is to tightly cropped to give us a perspective. It appears that the boot may be rising towards the back but that may just be the angle of the camera. Perhaps post a couple of others taken from the rear and the other side zoomed out so we can judge the angle.

Good luck with your next Copen.

    BIG UPDATE!!!!!!
Hello everyone!!! Bodywork shop found the problem!!!

It's the rear trunk lid electric mechanism that is the problem! A microswitch is in very bad shape and the overall mechanism is worn out, I ordered one from a good friend and I will install it when receive it

I'm so happy I made a great deal for this copen... Everything works and it's in very good condition
Will get the chassis treated for rust and I'm good for winter!
