Not sure how, I suspect it wasn't put on correctly at the last service, but I can't prove it, but my oil filler cap has vanished. Luckily I spotted it before any damage from lost oil was done. I've spent a long time today searching for a replacement on the net and haven't got very far with it. Nothing on eBay, not even those breaking a copen. I've emailed a few businesses, submitted requests on breaker sites etc and hopefully one will come back to me quickly.

But as Christmas is nearly here and I really need the car back on the road, has anyone got any handy hints of anywhere that might have them?

    Cheers,

    Sarah

If a breakers is local drive there with something temporary in place then they can see if there is an equivalent that will fit, I assume there cant be that many different designs/sizes so something from a Toyota may fit. if it's the 1.3 I understand its the same engine as a 1.3 Yaris

used to have an Imp and it was common among Imp owners to replace oil filler with one from an Escort to aid engine breathing

Their details say they have the 0.7 turbo engine.

Why not some cling film and an elastic band to keep you on the road until you find a replacement.

Surely some other make/model will fit as they don't all vary in size, do they!?

Thanks for all the replies. I tried all the ones suggested. Got 3 quotes back today from about £30 inc p&p. Then I remembered someone saying that catermoles of Ipswich were very helpful, so I dropped them an email. I had a phone call this morning from them and they are getting one from their importer. It should be with them tomorrow, and the guy I spoke to is coming to Chelmsford on Wednesday, so he's going to be dropping it off for me. Total cost £17.98!

It's not very often you get service like that, so one to bear in mind if you need a part.
