    Hello there!

Looking for some advice :) I need to take my battery out from the Copen car to get it re-charged however I've been advised that I will need a radio code. I've looked though my manual but there is nothing in it regarding this. Any idea where the radio code might be documented? Is this even needed for a Copen car - Year 2004?

Do you still have the ugly original cassette radio installed? Could be that it needs a code...
If its an aftermarket radio then no code necessary

Hi Salieri, thanks for the reply! Just checked it there and it appears to be a clarion Radio/CD player so it would not be the original cassette radio. Do you think I'm safe to remove the battery? :)

    Just to be sure...
Does it look like this one?:

If yes, its the original radio.

If its just a regular smaller single slot radio it should be aftermarket and therefore not have a radio code. You should be able to remove the battery without a problem

Clarion was the stock radio / tapedeck for the Copen. If you can't find the code, just replace the unit with something cheap - it'll be miles ahead of the PoS Clarion.

In Germany it was a Grundig brand radio, but maybe its different for every country...
Agree that a nice Pioneer or Sony radio will be a lot better

I always use a 12 power supply with plug for a cigarette lighter and leave it with ignition on in the cigarette lighter. This allows me to disconnect the battery and still have the settings of the radio. One can also take an external 12volt battery ... Plus inside ground (housing) minus.

Our Copen standard radio has no code. I changed the battery last year.

I've disconnected my battery loads of times without problem. Got the original Clarion fitted
