Hi, I need a new base unit for the radio aerial, can any body suggest a suppler, I can get one from. I can get at it through boot, but its does not look like a standard aerial fitting

    Thanks

Not sure which part you mean, rubber bit on the outside or metal bit on the inside? You're probably best talking to someone breaking a copen, Adam 07557805891 can probably sell you one at a decent price.
If not there's a couple other guys on the FB group or breakers on ebay, if you want new then SG Petch have them at incredibly insane prices.

£80 for an aeriel?! WTH! £16 for the rubber bit, £135 for the metal bit.

Thanks for that, need the rubber outside part that goes through and fixes into the metal box, metal parts good and the actual aerial. Bit of a fiddle, built by people with small hands

Hi, my radio (the original Clarion cd1500r) died so using the links to the videos showing how to replace it (many thanks the contributors!), I used an old JVC head I had from a former vehicle and sorted it - only to find out it wasn’t the Clarion after all it was the aerial reception, notably the heavily soiled/dampened unit which lives under the rear wing (pic attached)! Again thanks to the explanations on the forum explaining how to find and remove it, a bit of a pain! :-(
Does anyone have experience of testing or repairing this unit OR if there is a reasonably priced replacement for it and the rest of the assembly anywhere on planet earth OR another solution for radio reception?
    Many thanks, Dermot

Used to have a White Copen, but I sold it in 2023
I assume this one is not working, so I would definitely try to make it work again before buying new.
First get the PCB out of the plastic case, then take isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and a soft toothbrush, try to get all that crud out, resolder connections that look damaged.
If it works again, congratulations, if not, look for a parts number and start searching online :D
