Recently took my wifes copen for its MOT and it failed. It is a 53 plate with 40K on and nothing has ever gone wrong with it. The failure was because the seat belts wouldn't retract properly. So in order to get at the seat belt mechanism I lowered the roof but only partially. Fixed, or more to the point improved the seat belts. Came to close the roof and it wouldn't move up or down. Just seemed to have died. I have checked the following. Blue handles seem to be seeted OK Disconnected and re-connected battery. Hand brake sensor seems OK. Does any one know if their is a reset proceedure for the roof. (BMWs have one involving the ignition key in position 1, hold roof closure for 5 seconds, turn key to position 2 etc etc) Any ideas? Thanks!
The boot open button inside the centre console also resets the roof system. Don't know how it would work with the roof half down though. My advise would be to manually get the roof into the closed position. It tells you how in the owners manual. Then press the boot open button. Close the boot again, then try to see if the roof opens again.
