Hello, when I drive at very low speed with my Copen 1.3 (2007) and use slowly the brakes the ABS works (I can hear a vibration which sounds like the ABS). This completely disappears at others speed. Jérôme
ABS should only work when you step on the brakes hard. So maybe the vibration comes from defective brakes?
If you're certain it's not the brakes you're feeling, it might indicate that the speed signal from one of the wheels is incorrect. There is a ABS + EBD diagnosis procedure described in section E3-11 of the service manual. By shorting two terminals on the diagnosis connector and turning on and off the igniton, it uses a sequence of ABS and brake warning lights to inform you of the system self check outcome. This might be quite helpful for you.
Thanks for answers I had this problem before my change of wheel; Front brakes are completely new (disk and pads and I had the vibration before I change them). The vibration comes only when I drive very slowly, just when I begin to touch the brake pedal without pushing it and using the brake. I have no problem at other speed. It sounds typically like an ABS working from the front right side of car where is the ABS central. Surely an incorrect speed signal from one of the wheel, I will check that. Thank you ronalddoes.
