I noticed some people were prepared to pay around £65 for the original Copen gear knobs and even £35 for an aftermarket momo one etc. Well not me! Lol. The wife had a pool ball in her mini and wanted one for the Copen but the standard 2" pool ball you get on ebay looks way too big in the Copen. I got my hands on a new set of junior size pool balls and drilled n tapped one out to fit the Copen. She's bagged the red no.3 and the black no.8 is gone now too. Everything else is still up for grabs. Yellow to match a yellow copen? Blue too? Go different with orange? Etc. I'll happily sell these to Copenworld members for only £5 plus p&p (prob another £2.50ish). I've only one set mind, so once they're gone - they're gone. Sorry about the pic. It's dark out there! Dunf
great idea and look. Pity there isn't a silver one. If we find the pink copen owner may be they would like to pot the pink one!
It's at least partly to blame. No biggie. We had a mini for years and that needed holes punched in the floors to drain water. This car is a doddle.
yes. the white ball is available. I used it as the first attempt to set up my drill so have to confess it is not drilled 100% concentric but because its the white ball it doesn't matter as there is no number or stripe to line up straight once fitted. Let me know if you want it. Here are the balls available - Here is the difference between the standard ball and these ones
Not really much to write up. It's fairly simple. I use a bench drill on slow speed with a sharp drill bit, then tap it out with the correct size and good quality plug tap. That's kinda about all really. No rocket science involved. Go for it.
Pool ball gear knob If still for sale, I would like to buy gear knob number 13 Please get in touch and let me know how you want to be paid Thanks, Neville
Thank you, will definitely try it. Just thought there would be more to it. My main worry is that it comes loose because there is/are no screw/s tightening it to the gear lever shaft.
no, its threaded (same as the original and it doesnt have any tightening screws). The reason you need tightening screws on aftermarket ones is because they come unthreaded and just slip on. This is so they can be used on a multitude of gear sticks. Update: 3 / 8 / 13 / 10 / 4 - now gone. Cheers!
Nev, your 13 ball is in the post bud. Hope you enjoy. No offence to anyone who works for Royal Mail but its no wonder its in a state. New guides implemented 2 weeks ago now mean its £4.10 to post a 15 gram child's pool ball!!!!! Incredible. Hermes are £4 up to 2kg and I just got an 18kg spares delivery from Munich for £5.50 with UPS Euro. I won't pass on this price increase to anyone else wanting a ball as I feel like its taking the p!ss. Any suggestions on alternate postage methods are welcome though. Thanks
You are a gent indeed. Sad state of affairs & I quite agree, there seem to be so many liberties taken these days I aim to get out as soon as possible.... All Good Things my friend, Nev
