I have just managed to download the owners manual for my 1.3 Copen from this site. Having read about the electric roof there is mention of an "Opening Cover" - I don't seem to have one? Please can anyone tell me if these covers were supplied as standard with a new car or were they an Optional Extra? Also what purpose do these covers serve apart from covering the gap between the seats and boot?
    thanks
    Martyn

They were an optional extra and not very easy to fit at a later date :-(( the only purpose is to hide the gap between the seats and the boot and maybe keep some dust out of the boot when driving distances with the roof down. A lot of cars do not have them as they were an expensive extra (about £400 I think).

If you are thinking of getting one talk to quibbles as she recently fitted one that she got from ebay.

I have one in my boot - never used it ever.
guess I should try it out just for looks one day.
the models that came with one had extra bits inside the boot to hook it to I think so it's not as simple as just getting one - but then you really don't need one anyway.

There are also extra bits fitted on the back parcel shelf of the car, so fitting it after market is expensive and can be difficult. Mine came with one and I do sometimes use it but only if I am going for a long drive. Normally it is easier to just leave it in the boot. :D

Quibbles' husband actually. In the end we bought a back parcel shelf with all the attachments for £40, so John didn't have to adapt ours. The cover was bought on Ebay for around £125 and took about ten minutes to fit. Haven't used it yet and probably never will, but hey......you know how it is :D

To my hubby, if something exists, it's worth owning  It will make Nobby look extra snazzy at next year's meet though. :)

Yeah that's what I thought! Put it to auction so it can sell for what's people are really willing to pay for it.

    Damn I want it...

This little yellow Copen is draining my bank account quicker than the old x reg focus & my 05 Astra combined! And there's nothing even wrong with the Copen

As this kit was about £400 or more, as an order item, this is probably in line wth this sellers usual 'discount rate'... The main thing is it will come complete, in one box (too large to fit in a Copen boot btw), your one stop solution... If you want a tonneau cover, that's the question you need to ask yourself.
We love ours but it came with the car, would we have paid this for one though...
