oil level

    when checking the oil the stick has nothing on it but there is oil in the sump.
    i know some cars have a dry sump system where you check the oil with the engine running.
    do i check my oil level with or without the engine running ?

    It's a wet sump system, should be checked with engine off.
    If there's no oil on the stick, put some in before you start it again.

    How do you know there's oil in the sump?

    when engine is running there is plenty of oil on dipstick.
