    oil grade

Recommended oil grade as per Castrol website: Magnatec 5W-30 A1 or Edge 5W-30 (b) both synthetic which is good. Is A3 for the former acceptable? In warmer climates can one use Magnatec 10W-40 instead. Local dealer insists that 15W-40 is recommended for all Daihatsu (has a huge barrelful). Is this one-size-fits-all approach correct?

Not sure on the oil recomendatation for South Africa.
The service manual for Europe & Australia recommends:
5W30 API grade SG of higher.

Can any other South African owners advise what oil they use?
