Hi All New to Copen ownership. Bought a lovely low mileage one for the wife's birthday!! Not looking forward to maintanance.....everything seems so diddy!!!! Any advice much appreciated Thanks in advance
Hi. is it a turbo version or 1.3? If its a turbo go buy a bowser of oil and bad full of oil filters and cross your fingers the turbo is good. Otherwise starting saving your coins in a big jar to pay for a new one if it goes. Look around for parts as some can be selling them for very high prices. Possibly because Daihatsu have set sail. If you want any specific advice just ask.
Ah, just read your other post. So you do have a turbo and know about the 3000 miles service interval now. Did the seller inform you of this? What has the service history been like? The fuel filter is in the fuel tank so its not a maintenance item. I'd say for its size its an expensive car to service.
Hi Aracaris, Welcome to Copenworld First have a read of the buyers guide https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=1078 Have a look here for service part information https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=1459 I'd advise to buy genuine Daihatsu Filters. The service manual advises to change the filter every 6K or a year. Personally I get it changed every 3K.
The filters are expensive what I checked out for the turbo. £15 ish? I bought a small bulk load of genuine Daihatsu oil filters for about £6/7 recently. I also have an Halfords one I got to spend the £10 voucher I had.
Plus VAT! http://daihatsu-copen.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/parts/detail/category=ROOT-service/engine=169/part=2799
so its about £24 if you bought just one? double I'm off for a job in Worcester that seems to be where to money is!
I did buy one from them once. That's only because I couldn't be bothered to drive the three miles to the local ex-Daihatsu dealer to pick one up.
Filters Tell me where to buy at 7 pounds each and i'll buy a load for sure. Also what are the best tyres to use and some idea of a target price would be really helpfull Thanks
Just personal preference but I do like the standard fit Bridgestone Potenza tyre. See the below recent thread for other options & prices. https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=1816&highlight=tyre
