hello, my name is lance and I live near Bath. I am collecting a copen this coming weekend for my wife, the car has a suspected major engine failure so I wonder if anyone has replaced a .7 motor with an alternative more readily available ?
If not looks like I’ll break new ground and maybe start a thread, done this with other vehicles I’ve owned but always open to suggestions and advice.

Your best bet would be the 1.3 or 1.5 Toyota Yaris motor the euro models had. You should be able to get a wiring harness from a wrecked euro car

See if you can find a 1.3l K3-VE engine from a Daihatsu Sirion, the swap should be the easiest, as the european Daihatu Copen has this engine from the factory.
