Hi all, Thought you might like to hear of my experience in getting a new exhaust for our Copen. The old system had rusted through on the centre section as it joins the mid silencer. After a lot of research I found a place in Walsall called Midlands Exhausts. This was set up by a guy who had worked at a large exhaust specialist in Walsall called MIJ. To cut a long story short, MIJ quoted me £344 for a cat back stainless steel system. Incidentally many different owners clubs use MIJ with good reviews.

Midlands came in at £290 inc vat and using exactly the same materials as MIJ. They are a fairly new company but I found a few positive reviews on the internet and some pictures of a chap who had his Fiat 500 done there. Anyway I have had the work carried out and I'm delighted. I got to choose the tailpipes which are slightly wider than the originals. I also chose a standard sound rather than a mid sport (my wife insisted!). It all took about three and a half hours and has a life time guarantee.

I realise that for most Walsall will be far to travel (including me) but I didn't fancy paying £400+ for a mild steel system from Daihatsu. I am extremely pleased with the results and hope this might be of interest to someone.

I also found it cheaper to buy a stainless steel exhaust than a standard mild steel one.

I paid a little more than you, £350, but everything's more expensive here. (N Ireland)
