Following on from an article posted in October reporting that Daihatsu is not currently importing new Copens into the UK because of the poor exchange rate, it seems that the situation is still not improving. A few months ago, there was a steady stream of dealers listing new unregistered Copens on Ebay. The listings dried up in October when supplies of new Copens started to dwindle. A listing for a Copen has recently appeared on Ebay, claiming "this is probably the only unregistered Copen in the country". Whether this is the start of Copens being imported again, or whether it's just older unsold stock remains to be seen. If you live in North Yorkshire where this dealer is based, this may be the time to grab yourself a car before it disappears. Go on, treat yourself for Christmas, you know you want to!
