Sounds like fun! As we would have to drive up from the Channel Tunnel, what time do we need to arrive at the hotel for check-in? And what time is the buffet dinner going to begin on Friday 25 May? Hi Chrismadeley, great to hear that you will be able to make it! Dinner times are not yet fixed, so please check back with the meeting's website for updates. According to my reservation check-in time at the hotel starts at 15:00h. That also sounds like a reasonable arrival time and gives you the chance for plenty of chats with fellow Copen-drivers before dinner . Andreas
I just drove over to Holland and found the whole experience to be very easy. The roads are in very good condition and the only thing I wasn’t fully aware of was the road markings that indicate the need to give way to cyclists hurtling along from paths that cross the roads at right angles. If I can persuade the missus, I hope to be able to make this trip and meet up with fellow Copenistas.
Does that mean there are no potholes once you exit the Channel Tunnel into France, Belgium and Holland?!?
Maybe less potholes, but I assume quite a few drempels @BarnsleyRob: Great if you can make it. Andreas
Like everything else in Holland ! The only thing to watch for is the white triangle markings on the front edge which mean “give way”. I almost sh*t myself when 3 pushbikes came barrelling down from a path at 90 degrees to the drempel and it was only luck that they missed the car. I was even sticking to the speed limit (unusually) but just didn’t see them or expect them to be there. I think I’d have won the battle in the X5, but the result in a Copen could have been a bit more upsetting.
Think we might be coming to this this time just need to check some things out like weather or not we can bring the dog to the hotel or not??? Hopefully see you there scooty
Hi Attack chihuahua, very happy to hear that you are considering to come as well! Don't worry about the weather, that's the reason all Copens have a hard-top. For bringing a dog, I kindly ask you to directly contact the hotel. If you know the result, could please let us all know so that I can add this information to the initial post? Thanks, Andreas
Sorry Andreas I didn't mean the "weather" I meant whether, bloody predictive text !!!! Does my head in DR
Hi all bit of information for everyone, the hotel does take dogs!!! The cost is €15 per night and they have rooms on the ground floor. DR
Thanks for finding out, I added the information to the initial post. So we will be seeing us there, great!
Looks like I’ll miss the event as the ferry prices are too high on those dates, presumably due to the Bank Holiday in the UK. Maybe next time. Hope you all enjoy the meet though.
