Anybody interesting in exhibiting their pride and joy at the South Wales Classic Car Show on Sunday 11th May 2014? Cars are expected to be onsite between 1100 and 1600. Entry is free if we submit before 11th April. The show has been running for 27 years and all profit made goes to charity. Easy to get to - just off J35 of M4. Normally cars have to be over 20 years old to enter, but I have spoken to the organisers and they are happy to accept Copens (and who wouldn't be!) More details HERE Post below if you are interested. Rex.
I currently only live 30 mins up the road from there! But in a weeks time I'll be 80 miles up the road & the 11th of May will be my official day two of my new job. And yes some of us have to work weekends in jobs these days! Maybe next year Never been to a car show before though. What do you do after the first couple of hours? Went to sell at a car boot sale once & got really bored after half an hour!
nah just my granny's family are proper north welsh (speak the language etc) and i had to endure two camping experiences near abergavenny (sp!) and some serious trauma waiting for trains....
Rex We would like to come. Never been to a car show before or a classic car show. Amazing where a Copen can lead you! At least you won't be on your own Please advise what we need to do Regards Old Badger
Oh that's great news. There is a entry form on the web site from the link above. Look on the left hand side of their web page. You'll also need 2 A5 stamped addressed envelopes. Yes, quite old school, I know It does say entries need to be received before the 11th April for free entry, but I have spoken to them and they will allow a few days grace. There is also a statement regarding public liability insurance - don't worry, I send you a private message regarding that. Really looking forward to meeting the Badgers! Rex.
My pass arrived today, so better sort out the polishing soon! It is possible to just turn up with your Copen on the day, but you will have to pay £10 to enter. That's not too bad as it includes entrance for 2 adults and 2 kids (no, not goats!). Rex.
It doesn't rain in Wales does it?? Just wondering if we can get wellies, umbrellas, waterproofs, sou'westers, life jackets, life rafts etc. in to the Copen as well as our stuff and us!! Rex, looks like we're in for a damp time at the show! Hope there's a refreshment tent to keep us alive! . See you there - hope the boot leak is fixed! OB
The local forecast is light rain, that should clear up later - you never know, you could get your top off yet! Rex.
You really wouldn't want to see me with my top off But I 'm still bringing the wellies just in case. See you there OB
Ah, well, yes, There was a bit of a problem.... It was cancelled due to the heavy overnight rain and flooded field. Still, Old Badger and myself met up and spent some time inspecting each other's vehicles over a cup of Mc D's coffee! Great to meet him and is wife & son - Now theres a question for you - How do you get three people in a Copen OB has promised pictures to follow.... Rex.
