Lowering Springs

    Hi All,

    Was wondering if anyone would know anything about this.
    I am looking to lower my Copen 1.3 but of course cant find any lowering springs. Would other Daihatsu Springs fit? such as Sirion Springs, materia or charade springs? or would Yaris Springs fit?

    daihatsu copen
    the avanzato springs sort of fit, they are tiny bit to small for the rear but I made them fit mine with no real issues

    there is a coil over set on ebay for the copen but its big money

    There's RS R super Downs and the like.

    I prefer the adjustability of the coilovers. I've had RS-R's before - and they were too low. You have no recourse to adjust so be careful what you choose.

    I went with coilovers on my Copen recently - but for the rear actually had to go back to the supplier for lower rear coils as even at the lowest adjustment they were the same height as the originals.

    ahh thanks for this. :) I take it the L880 copen springs will fit the 1.3 l881? :) also would a strut brace from the l880 fit the 1.3?

    Short answer: No
    Long answer:
    To my knowledge no strut bars are available for the 1.3l RHD Copen, for the LHD version there is a manufacturer in Germany (this or this or this), but it definitely does not fit the RHD, tried it myself.
    If you in any case come across a strut bar for the 1.3l RHD Copen please let me know.

    ah no problem scooty, thanks for this. Ive seen the german company that does them, glad i never bought one if they dont fit the RHD model!
