Wow that is good news, nice to know there are some decent people out there who can be bothered to hand the keys in.

When you get a spare key cut, make sure the locksmith can clone the transponder otherwise you will only be able to unlock the door and not start the car.

Nice one, we're a honest lot in Sunderland.:)
If you find a local supplier of keys could you post it up on this thread? I'm also after another key & likewise if I find anywhere I'll let you know.

I asked at Timpsons about the key. They can cut & programme it for £25 which is a special offer they are currently running. They don't stock the blank so they have to order it in, a three day wait. I was expecting to pay a fair bit more than that after reading some of the horror stories about key prices, so I'm happy with that.

Which Timpsons is that ? I think £25 is a good price. I will get one as well.

I asked at a small timpsons at Alfreton and they didn't have the blank in stock. Said it would be a three day wait for the blank, but because I'm on holiday down here I didn't order it.
I was in Mansfield yesterday and tried their Timpsons. They had the blank and cut and programmed it while I waited. Give Timpsons in Jacky White's a try, the £25 price is a limited time special offer according to their advertising.

Having now got back home I was able to try the key & it worked perfectly.
It has the make of the blank stuck in the middle of the plastic end which I'm not too keen on. At least the price was reasonable though & it works which is a bonus.:)

    Thanks DaG.

I got mines from the Metrocentre shop. Mines says JMA spain in the middle. I am using spare key all the time now and keeping the original one safe for future cloning :D

Is urs Red by any chance ? I saw a Red with 58 plate on parked in whitburn on saturday also a black one at the Airshow.

In total I have actually seen 4 more copens in Sunderland but there are only 2 of us on here :D

Yes my key has JMA in a slightly raised up rubber disc, it's hideous.
My Copen is grey on a 08 plate. I live at East Herrington and work at Washington so that is the area you would most likely see it. I've never been to Whitburn or even Seaburn in it yet and going over the Air-show last weekend was a no no for me. I watched it from Hendon promenade, much safer.
The only Copens I've seen in the area is a grey one with a football sized dent in the bonnet. A yellow one that I've seen in various places. Could be more than one car though, I just assume it's the same one because of the Copen rarity.
Other than that I passed a silver Copen at Silksworth with a woman driving it. I had the roof down and raised my hand to say hi to the driver. She looked at me like I was jack the ripper, I won't do that again.:D

This is my car from the pictures the dealer used.

    Not exactly.
It was the bit of your post I highlighted in bold, where you said "then one of them came out to service me."
A bit of a double entendre in the style of the old carry on team, hence the "ooh err mrs" and the picture. Sorry, it seemed funny at the time.:)

only one key need advise on if I can add a alam to car

I have just bought a copen that came with only 1 key and thats the gray spare. I phoned the local Daihatsu Dealer and found out it would be £240 for the remote and key. I have since seen on e-bay you can buy alarms with remote locking for about £30.00 dose anyone know if its ok to wire these in so I have remote locking. I have also seen the posts that timpson are doing keys for 25.00 is that offer still on

Many moons ago I had a Fiat Cinquecento Sporting. It had central locking but not remote. I had a Clifford alarm fitted. I got two remote fob's. Worked great.
I'm sure I've seen Copen remotes fobs for sale somewhere. I'll see if I can find them again. You'll just need to get them linked to you car.
