Easy way to test your car immobiliser. (works with most modern cars) 1) Remove your key from the keyring - so you only have the key 2) Wrap the plastic fob in a few layers of tin-foil - so you cannot see any plastic. 3) Try to start your engine - should turn over but not fire up.
