I bought my Copen new in May 2004 and I've still got it :D:D

    Nearly 11 years!

Just think, I was still Young (ish) Badger when I bought it! :(:(

So, my question is, can anyone equal/beat this? Or come close?

Do let me know - it's probably the only way MLC and I will ever be record breakers!! :)

I can't beat that but my Copen was bought new on 17th December 2003 and the cash price was £13,290.00

I bought her on 08/12/13 for £1928.00 (28 was the owners lucky number !) so the original owner had her for 10 years and covered 41550 mles.

I love her (the car, not the original owner) but can'r sleep nights worrying, 'Will the turbo go today ?', 'will the roof jam?' and 'is that a bleb on my rear wheel arch ?' (Actually yes, it is).

The Peugeot 106 looks more tempting every day.

    Copen, no other car.
Don't worry Ned, I just tell myself "if it ever breaks down, I'll call the breakdown people" :) There's quite a few convertibles here where I work (no other Copens though) and the only ones I know where people have had roof failures have both been Peugeots. Another person who has a Renault Wind foldy top hates it now because the windows drop slightly when unlocked to allow the doors to open. A design flaw because at this time of year, they get stuck with the frost. At least we don't have that issue. Another chap at work has a golf turbo diesel, you'd think would be faultless, but after some worrying noises and taking into a garage he's been told that the turbo has gone and it will be around £2000 to replace.
All cars can have problems, a Copen is no worse than any others and is pretty reliable in many ways

ive had mine for just under a year. and has sat in garage for longer than on the road

brought it with a non working roof, but fixed that

been through a number of turbos already:-((

both rear archs are rusty and have stripped back to bare metal

stem seals and oil control rings died so engine died

not all bad tho as nearly got all the parts to finish rebuilding the engine and fit the new hybrid turbo. then welding time:)

but I still love the little thing and the best k car ive owned to date,
    and ive hada
    Suzuki kei 660 turbo
Daihatsu mira classic 4x4 660 turbo
Daihatsu mir avanzato l500s 660 turbo
Daihatsu mira avanzato l200s 660 turbo
    and another black copen

nothing beats a convertible and a dump valve:D
