    Hi guys

I'm Scott and i'm from West Yorkshire

I do not actually own a copen myself (not yet anyway) but my girlfriend owns one and I think they are ace. I love the car and I have told her she is never selling it haha.

I have also been looking at one to buy as a weekend car and I have seen one for sale and its in brilliant condition except for one problem. The roof. It hasnt worked since the winter apparently, so I am thinking of buying this little copen and fixing the roof myself, I have played/tinkered/fixed all my cars in the past (I begrudge taking it to a garage when I can attempt it myself) I will also be servicing my girlfriends copen soon.

So yeah I was just wondering what you guys might think about buying a copen with a roof that will not open?

    Thanks for reading :D

    Welcome Smc92,

Difficult one. There are so many reasons why the roof may not open, from a handbrake switch that need adjustment, to a faulty roof ECU!

Having said that, I think the more common problems are easy to cure.

suggest you download the manual on this site and have a read to let yourself know what you are getting yourself into. On a positive point, at least you will have two copens to swap over parts (always useful for fault finding).

    Rex.

The roof is,*probably, one of the simplest and reliable parts to the Copen.

With any luck, it's just a dirty microswitch - you could end up saving yourself a bundle by asking the seller to knock off £500
