Hello everyone! Whilst trawling autotrader for a new car, I came across a gorgeous looking car. It said it was a Daihatsu Copen, but I never new these little gems existed. So I started a google search for reviews, found this place and armed my self with everything I need to know about buying a Copen. I picked her up last Thursday and the grin still hasn't gone from my face! I now find myself looking to see what the day's weather will bring and what excuse I can make to go somewhere if the sun is out! I'll have to get the camera out and post a couple of pics on here of her. Until then, if t he sun is out, you'll probably see me out and about in Essex! Sarah
Welcome to Copenworld Runners, I am from Essex too, near Southend, so we might see each other around. Where abouts are you? This forum is great for finding out more about your Copen as well as helping you to spend a fortune on modifications! Hope to be able to give you a wave sometime. Clare
Welcome Sarah, Sure you will have grin for a while ! Sun will be there next week, prepare glasses and cap, check the roof and... great time for you Hello everybody

A completely manic week, hence only replying now. Many thanks for the warm welcome I got the classic silver, 2005/6 and it's in rather good nick. I've been sorting out a few little things on it, such as getting the aircon serviced and recharged, putting locking wheel nuts on, and indulging my OCDness, by cleaning up all of the other wheel nuts! Im not normally that bad, but it really makes a difference to wheels and was really quick and easy to remove the oxidisation. I'm in Chelmsford and have seen another silver Copen going through Writtle, just after I brought mine, so there may be more than one in this part of Essex I am still grining like a Cheshire Cat, but I haven't braved any dual carriage ways or motorways in it yet. My previous car was a big old 1985 Merc 190, so the Copen is a lot smaller and feels a tad vulnerable next to those lorries! But I will be giving her a run up the M11 and A14 next weekend!
i've not had any issues with mine on dual carraigeways - but then i'm a 60mph type of person. i do tend to put the windows up with the roof down though - it helps.
Mine is great on motorways/dual carriageways. You soon get used to being smaller than everyone else! Also watch out for the cars trying to go past you so that they can look back and try to work out what car you are driving it is far more entertaining than driving your "normal" car.
