Always a good feeling when my car sails through the mot, not even an advisory, think it's more relief than anything. Just about to order a stormcover for the winter, gets pretty bad up here in the winter. Hope you are all happy motering

Mine also sailed through its MOT. Keeping dry and safe helps enormously !!

It's best too keep your Copen in a garage and, if possible, only drive it in nice weather. Congratulations on passing the MOT!

If you’re going to use a cover, make sure it’s properly lined and a good fit otherwise you’ll end up with very scratched paintwork at best. I’d make sure it’s washed, dried and then overdo the wax (proper stuff not the spray and shine). You can always remove the excess wax in the New Year whereas removing scratches is a royal PITA.

Make sure that the car is dry before putting the cover in. Just to prevent rust and dampness

Thanks guys spent all sunday washing and polishing my car and gave it some breathing space for last of moisture. Had a peek tonight as its lashed down here and not even a drop of condensation. Uncovering at the weekend to give it a run out before doing it all again and wrapping up. After the winter up here last year it's going to be treasured! Also covered the wheel nuts in a chrome protector just saves all the rust.

Rob what wax would you recommend, any thoughts what's best out there? I've used a few different varieties never known what's best, sometimes personal recommendation counts for a lot. Thanks in advance

I’d just use a Simonez or similar hard wax with a soft microfibre pad. There are some ceramic coatings out there but if you don’t use them strictly to the letter of the instructions, you need a machine polish to get it off the paint again.

if you mess up Simonez, you’ll have a few streaks but they wash out with warm water once you bring the car out for spring. Just don’t get it on your black trim (scuttle etc) or it leaves a milky deposit.
