From memory: The off the centre console, it's held in with a few bolts (some are hidden) There's a 10mm nut that you tighten in order to make the handbrake cable tight / taught.
I took apart half of my car yesterday and as Number6 said, remove the center console (its easy, 4 screws on the side, 2 or 3 on top behind plastic covers. You can find the adjuster very easily then. Not too sure about the brake shoes though. Ususally they should self adjust, but it's never a bad idea to double check
If you only adjust cable your shoes will not sit correctly on the cylinders and be out of adjustment. Take my advice and adjust brake shoes manually first adr then if needed adjust cable to suit.I have very rarely had to adjust hand brake cables in the 40 years I have been in the motor trade Hope this helps
What if the cable itself got slack? That does not have anything to do with the brake shoes, does it? Anyway, thank you for the explanation
