I've been looking through all the great photos from the recent big Copen meet in Germany.

    See here:

    Here are my favourite mods.
A nice new wind deflector. I want one please?

See the little Copen badge on the grill. Another for me please?

Finally this lovely grill. It looks like the new 2011 Copen grill from Japan.
    I want one.

Andreas (scooty) if you can help find out some information on these mods, I would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Adam,

    Wind Deflector:
These are made by "pegaline", a member of http://forum.micro-roadster.de.
You can choose any colour and best of all, he can engrave any design you like.
You can contact him by PM at http://forum.micro-roadster.de or send him an email (which I send you by PM here). Don't know whether he speaks English, just let me know if you have problems contacting him.

    Copen Badge:
This badge only came with an extra front grill, which is sold as extra by Daihatsu.

Price for the grill unfortunately is ridicilously high: 452,20 €
Can also be ordered at the online-shop of the german Daihatsu dealer Kiessetz & Schmidt
I was lucky to find only the badge once on eBay.

    Front grill:
This front grill is also from Daihatsu, only offered in Japan as part of the Ultimate Editions.
Can be ordered at any Daihatsu dealer, Daihatsu part number:
    53141 - B2040 -

Also available are vent rings and dashboard panel in the same piano laquer style.
    Part Numbers:
    Center panel 55420 - B2010 - C0
    Vent Rings 55526-B2010-C0 (per 1, 4 required)

If your local Daihatsu dealer has problems, I am sure Kiessetz & Schmidt can help, as I think they provided it to the german Copen.

    Hope that helps a bit?

    Andreas

Hi Andreas, thanks for getting the information so quickly.
I'm going to try to get one of those grills. Thanks also for the details of Pegaline.

    Hi Andreas,

Is the black grille (EUR452) plastic or steel?

I was wondering why it is almost 3x the price of the stainless steel grille like on your Copen?

I am considering the stainless steel grille and simply painting it black...

    Cheers,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

    this grille

has a plastic frame and (powder?-)coated metal mesh.

From the materials used it's definitely not worth the price, so the Copen badge must be very valuable?;)

    Two options:
Buy the expensive grille and change the mesh (http://www.racegitter.de/).
Mesh is screwed onto the frame, so no problem to change.

    OR

Buy a chrome-grille (http://shop.chromdesign.de/product_info.php?info=p2314_frontgrille-v2a-mesh.html) and powder coat it, result could look like

    Hi Andreas,

Many thanks for the grille details. :)

I am going for Option 2. I will buy the stainless steel grille and get it powder coated locally.

    Cheers,
    Peter
