    hi all,

note is the k3-ve2 105hp n/a engine conversion not 0.7 litre turbo model.

am listing up my latest project that in my eyes is finished and am onto my next money pit, specs as follows

2004 daihatsu copen 5 speed manual with hydraulic hardtop convertible 100,000kms (engine, gearbox 110,000)

2002 gtvi sirion 105hp 5 speed manual conversion goes very well almost twice the power of the 660cc turbo (62hp) engine and no rattles, knocks, smoke or any overheating issues great power plant as only weighs 790kgs handles like a go cart.

    new clutch

    new tyres 165/50/15

    6 months registration

mint leather interior with heated seats

electric convertible roof ( one of a kind k car)

    mp3 stereo

red/ orange in colour paint, body excellent condition

    remote central locking

    abs brakes

    two airbags

all electrics working from conversion including gauges, speedo, etc.

this car would suit a great daily driver or entry level track vehicle as handles and goes very well, like a gt4 celica body, paint, mechanicals all in excellent condition the only thing that needs finishing is one aircon line to be made up and then regasses ($120 couplers or enzed, hosemasters) didn't phase me as with the windows or roof down you get more than enough breeze. everything has been done properly with the conversion including new engine mounts, new cv's, 2inch exhaust (sounds mean) if your a time waster that just wants a drive forget about it as am after a quick sale and any serious enthusiast will snap her up as this is a tiny tiny car with 105hp that handles like it's on rails and gets over 30mpg on fuel. smaller than a toyota echo 3 door, seeing is believing, can sit myself fine 5 foot ten 95kgs so enough room for an aussie frame.

please note this is the k3-ve2 105hp 4 cylinder sirion gtvi reliable engine that doesn't suffer from turbo problems like the standard underpowered 61hp motor, so you will have a reliable, fast, very very rare copen as even the european models only had the 82hp k3-ve.

price $6000 ovno no time wasters or test pilots.

trouble is, you are in Aus, which makes the car expensive with import etc....

    Hi Troy,

I feel your pain. You have to wait for an enthusiast to come along. Most buyers are wary of modified cars, especially when it comes time to insure.

It's hard enough selling a stock, low mileage, Copen when new hatches can be had for a little over 10K driveaway...

Enthusiast found :) slapped a deposit down on it and will pick up in a few weeks. Got a few plans for it to, nothing too dramatic tho, all the hard work has been done.

Just curious - what's involved in doing the conversion? I'd considered doing the same to mine at one stage.
